【摘要】:Thispracticeisusefulinidentifyingthemajororganicconstituentsinwastewaterforsupportofeffectivein-plantorpollutioncontrolprograms.Currently,themostpracticalmeansfortentativelyidentifyingandmeasuringarangeofvolatileorganiccompoundsisgas-liquidchromatography.Positiveidentificationrequiressupplementaltesting(forexample,multiplecolumns,specialitydetectors,spectroscopy,oracombinationofthesetechniques).1.1Thispracticecoversgeneralguidanceapplicabletocertaintestmethodsforthequalitativeandquantitativedeterminationofspecificorganiccompounds,orclassesofcompounds,inwaterbydirectaqueousinjectiongaschromatography(1,2,3,4).1.2Volatileorganiccompoundsataqueousconcentrationsgreaterthanabout1mg/Lcangenerallybedeterminedbydirectaqueousinjectiongaschromatography.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
